Body Glow Treatments
Your
body has 3 important functions: protect, enhance, & regulate
which
these body glow treatments listed below offer. The skin is one of the
largest
organs of the body. An average person has more than three hundred
square inches of surface area.
Body glow treatments are a way to
really pamper yourself. you can also invite a friend or member of your
family to enjoy these spa like treatments with you. Many of these
treatments exfoliate and remove dead skin cells and impurities from
your skin. exfoliating not only leaves your body healthy and glowing
but it also allows the skin to retain more moisture while allowing new
skin to appear. Below I've listed some great body scrub recipes
Salt Rub
This body glow
treatment is a favorite today at many exclusive health
spas. Salt rubs are not a new treatment; they’ve been used for
centuries by many civilizations. Coarse salt added to oil and massaged
into your skin removes dead surface cells ( exfoliation ) and dirt
while simultaneously
lubricating the skin. Never use this treatment on your face or on skin
that has broken out, as it could be very irritating.
What you need:
- 2 cups kosher salt (or any coarse
salt)
- 1 cup almond oil (or coconut,
avocado, or olive oil)
How
to make:
Mix the salt and oil together until it forms a thick paste. While in
the tub or shower, take a handful of the salt scrub and massage it into
your
skin, starting with your feet (be careful, as the oil will make your
feet very slippery). Massage the paste all over your body. When
you have finished and your body is covered, rinse off with
warm
water and pat dry. Do not use soap or you will remove the oil and spoil
the moisturizing effect. Save any extra paste in a clean container for
your next treatment. It will keep for 1 to 2 months and does
not
need refrigeration. Makes 16 ounces
Yogurt Body Glow Treatment
Yogurt
is one of my favorite beauty treats. It can be used to
condition, cleanse, and moisturize your skin and hair, and is rich in
vitamins, protein, and calcium. If your skin seems dull or colorless,
use this treatment to make it glow. If you have oily skin, omit the oil
in this recipe.

What you need:
- 2 cups plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon wheat germ
- 1 tablespoon light oil, such as apricot kernel
or almond oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
How to make:
Mix together all ingredients. Slather all over the body, including the
hair, and massage well. Rinse the body in a warm shower followed by a
cool rinse as cold as you can stand it. Makes 16 ounces, 1 treatment.
Sea Mud Body Mask
This
is a rich clay body mask that removes toxins from the
skin and renews it. Kelp, aloe vera gel, and pure clay combine to give
your whole body a healthy, radiant glow. Powdered kelp can be found in
most natural food stores.

What you need:
- ½ cup powdered clay
- ¼ cup powdered kelp
- ½ cup aloe vera gel
- ¼ cup seawater (if not available, mix sea salt
with distilled water.)
How to make:
Mix together all ingredients until a smooth paste or mud is formed.
Spread the mud all over your face and body. (A medium-sized paintbrush
is helpful in evenly spreading the mud over your body.) allow the mud
to dry for 15 to 20 minutes. Shower off with tepid water and pat dry.
Use a rich moisturizer such as cocoa butter or coconut oil, as this
treatment can be drying for certain skin types. and there you have a
great sea mud treatment.
Makes 12 ounces, enough
for 1 treatment
Double Take:
If you do not want to cover your whole body in sea mud, you can do just
your upper torso. Kelp powder alone makes a mineral rich body scrub for
removing surface impurities.
