Sugar Scrub Recipe
Sugar
makes a good abrasive skin scrub. It cleanses and stimulates the skin.
Sugarbrasion is a popular treatment today at many health spas and
beauty salons. I like to keep a sugar bowl next to my bathroom sink;
when you travel you should always keep a packet of sugar your my
cosmetic bag.
What you need:
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- soap and water
- juice of ½ lemon or 3 tablespoons
citrus freshener
How to use:
while washing your face with soap, add a teaspoon of sugar to the
lather and massage gently into your skin. Rinse your skin with a
mixture of equal parts lemon juice and water or the Citrus Freshener.
Rinse with clear, cool water and pat dry.

Sugar Scrub
What you need:
1 1/2 cup white table sugar
1/4 cup light vegetable oil: safflower, sunflower, or sweet almond.
You can find safflower oil at most grocery stores. Don't use almond oil
if you're allergic to
nuts.
Mix together in a plastic bowl with a lid. Take it
in the
shower and rub the homemade sugar scrub all over your body before
turning on the water. You may
want to exclude your face and neck, as it could be abrasive for some
skin types you be the judge. Then,
rinse also take care as it can make your shower slippery. Most people
will experience some redness from the exfoliating scrub.
